Five on Friday

Thank goodness the weekend is here.  Not that Mom's really get a weekend, but a certain tiny person in our house had shots this week and they kicked her butt.  It made for a really long week, but we survived!  So, this weekend I'll be pushing Baby Duty to Dad so I can whip this house back into shape.  Such an exciting weekend right?  My main goal is to get our guest room back into sleeping order and pretend that when my Mother isn't visiting that we don't use it as an A-1 Mini Storage Unit.  She'll be staying with us for a few days after Thanksgiving, so basically I have the weekend, because lord knows getting any project done with a Toddler around while Daddy is at work isn't happening.

So, now that I've hooked you with my super riveting weekend plans, let's get to the main dish shall we?!  It's been a few since I've done a Five on Friday so I thought I'd link back up with Christina and the girls and give it a go.  Enjoy.

O N E - Holiday Cards

While I may have totally outdone myself by finishing Christmas shopping by November, I've managed to stick to my procrastinating ways with Christmas Cards.  I have yet to pick outfits, a location, or a day/time to get these bad boys done.  One year I will manage to get these out by the end of November ... we'll just add that to my bucket list so I have a long while to complete the task. I may not have a picture to put on it, but I'm totally obsessing over Shutterfly's Ornament Cards! Aren't they the sweetest?!  I'm that paper hoarder that saves Christmas Cards every year, so this is the perfect way for someone to save your card and reuse it on their tree! Pure genius, if you ask me.

T W O - DIY Felt Tree

Last year's Christmas was relatively easy.  M wasn't anywhere near on the move yet, so we didn't have to worry about our tree.  This year, I'm a little a lot concerned as Mykenzi is walking EVERYWHERE and into EVERYTHING!  It's a full time job not losing track of her in the house (Wow, that just made me sound like a stellar mother.)  I've seen this on Pinterest pre-baby but re-visited it after witnessing my child get her little toddler hands on everything within reach.  I'm hoping this DIY Felt Chirstmas Tree will be just enough of a distraction to keep her tiny little hands off our tree!  Fingers crossed.  Anyone have success with this?

T H R E E - Buble Christmas

Since we're steady on the Christmas train, let's talk about Holiday Music.  I already have an unhealthy obsession with Michael Buble, so it's no surprise that his Holiday Album is currently on repeat.  It's really the only Christmas-y thing I can do at the moment, because somehow I committed to the unwritten clause in our vows that said I would not decorate for Christmas until the day after Thanksgiving.  I really screwed myself with that one.  What was I thinking? My Christmas loving heart is about to explode, but Thanksgiving is my Husband's holiday so I guess I have to respect that.  That's what a good wife says, right?

F O U R - Cheesy Pull Apart Rolls

Speaking of Thanksgiving, I'm pretty set on trying this recipe for our dish to bring.  We head to Alabama everywhere and we all try to pitch in and bring a side.  I'm thinking chasing a toddler around the house and trying to wrangle her into an outfit will occupy most of my time, so I figured an easy peasy recipe might be just the thing I need.  Not only does this one seem fairly quick and simple, but it looks and sounds super delicious.  I'm excited to give it a try.

F I V E - Mani/Pedi

I'm hoping to treat myself to a mani/pedi before Thanksgiving because lord knows fingers and toes are hot mess at the moment.  I'm really loving Wrap Me Up from Essie's Cashmere Matte Collection.  The entire collection is gorgeous, but there's something about a white nail that I love.  I haven't purchased at Matte color before so I'm excited to give it a try.  Hopefully it doesn't make my nails look more jacked up than they already are. Anyone have this collection?

That's it for this week.  Hope you all have a great weekend.  I'm launching a Giveaway on Monday with my good friend Amy.  Be sure to check back!

And remember, if you want to Five on Friday, grab a button, and link up with Christina, Natasha, Darci, and April.

  1. I think I am going to attempt the felt Christmas tree too. Let's be real though nothing is going to be as exciting as the real tree with real lights and real ornaments. In other words - we're f*cked.
