This past week was a doozy. My child would not let me out of her sight and forget sitting down at the computer to blog. That wasn't going to happen either, she was very clear about how she felt about it. So, with an unexpected week off from blogging, I have a lot to catch up on in the coming weeks, but that just means more exciting stuff for you to read.
As far as Rowan goes, I can definitely tell he is getting bigger because I'm growing more and more uncomfortable. Being on my feet is also proving to get harder as my ankles will downright ache at night if I'm on them for too long. I'm also near the weight I was with Mykenzi when I delivered, which is the heaviest I've ever been, and puts a lot of hard pressure on my heels and feet causing some pain. I'm starting to grow more and more nervous that we won't make it to our scheduled date of July 7th. I'm trying to take it easy as much as possible to ensure he bakes for as long as possible.
In some exciting news, I placed my deposit for Placenta Encapsulation and secured our due date. I'm so excited to see how this helps postpartum. If you aren't sure what I'm talking about, Placenta Encapsulation is the process of dehydrating your placenta after the baby is born and grounding it up into capsules for you to take. It has huge benefits like helping fight against PPD symptoms, milk supply, restoring iron in your blood, and helping contract your uterus down to size. I also just learned that in other countries they are looking into clinical studies to use placenta encapsulation for immediate consumption instead of shots and other alternatives for blood incompatibilities. It doesn't necessarily offer Rowan more protection, but it is nice to know this could potentially benefit me more than I imagined in this situation. I've only ever heard amazing things about doing this, so I'm really looking forward to seeing the difference postpartum between my pregnancy with Mykenzi and this one.
How far along? 30
weeks,, 0 days ... Nothing like a late bumpdate. Sorry, Rowan.
Total weight gain? +25lbs.
I'm officially 5 pounds away from what I was when I delivered Mykenzi and
I have a feeling I'll be going over that. Oh well, as long as he's healthy
right?
Maternity clothes? I'm still making some of my
regular clothes work, but I did break down and by a couple of maternity tank
tops to get me through the rest of this Spring into Summer.
Stretch
marks? Nothing new other than what I mentioned last week.
However, I have noticed that my linea nigra has shown up. It isn't
as dark as it was with Mykenzi, but this time it brought a friend in the form of a mask. I have noticed I have a slight pregnancy mask on my face. Thankfully, it
lands on both of my cheek lines so I can camouflage it with blush.
I'm hoping it doesn't get too much darker or that it doesn't spread.
Sleep? This is how I know Rowan has gotten
bigger. Sleep has been awful. I'm having the hardest time getting
comfortable. Laying on my sides hurts my belly and laying on my back
causes me not to be able to breathe. This kid is running out of real
estate quick! I did managed to grab a couple of winks last night after I
basically slept sitting up at at 90 degree angle. At this point, I'm
willing to try anything because sleep is sleep!
PEAK of the week? Securing my spot to get my
placenta encapsulated. Also, a friend of mine announced she is due with
Baby #2! This news is long awaited for and we are all so incredibly
excited for their little family.
PIT of the week? Not being able to blog.
I had some really great posts lined up that now I'm scrambling to
reschedule my coming weeks to fit everything in. Not something I
anticipated. I should no better that with a toddler to always have a back
up plan in case these weeks happen. I also found out at the Doctor today
that I failed my 1 hour glucose test. I passed with Mykenzi, so this is
new territory. I'm kind of freaking out a little because I know GD babies
do tend to be bigger and we are a little concerned that he may be measuring big
due to this! I'll take my 3 hour test on Friday, so hopefully I pass.
My doctor seems confident that he is only measuring big because he is a
boy and this is my second pregnancy, but we do have to rule out GD.
Big Sister? is glued to Mommy's hip still.
She is not misbehaving by any means which I'm thankful for, but I'm not
getting anything productive done. Such as life I guess, all those
"other things" can wait, she obviously needs her Mommy right now.
I'm hoping she takes this transition to a sibling well.
Daddy? Had a stressful week with work. So
much work and so little time. He's playing extra catch up this week so we
get to enjoy a long weekend together for our wedding anniversary! I can't
believe we've been married 5 years already and 13 all together. Time
flies when you're having fun.
Miss anything? After this week, that Bloody
Mary sounded so good again. And I'm starting to really miss sleeping
comfortably. If I end up having GD, sugar and carbs are going to make this list real quick!
Movement? Tons of movement and he's definitely
getting stronger. He is still sitting hip to hip and often times it feels
like his is pushing my hips apart. So painful! I think he is trying
to S L O W L Y make is way head down, but boy is he taking his sweet time
getting there.
Food cravings? Honeycombs cereal is still in
high demand. I average 3 bowls a day at least. Boom Chicka Pop's
White Cheddar popcorn is also pretty high in demand. I also had a strong
craving for some cupcakes this week and goofing and thinking I was sending a
911 Cupcake text to my husband, I realized I had sent it to a friend instead. To
my surprise she showed up the next day with the most delicious cupcakes.
Craving satisfied.
Anything making you feel sick or queasy? Any
sleeping position right now except for sitting up. I can't get
comfortable without feeling nauseous laying down.
Gender? Team Boy
Symptoms? Pregnancy mask, still swelling a tad
when I'm on my feet too long, and just all around achy. I'm also
breathing heavier, I'm assuming from this massive chunk of weight I'm holding
on the front of my body, but apparently this has lead to some snoring too.
But, that's according to my husband. Let's be real, I don't snore. Hah!
Belly button in or out? It's steadily a little
pokey.
Happy or moody? It's been a pretty happy week!
Looking forward to? Celebrating our Anniversary
this weekend along with a friend's Gender Reveal and another friend's birthday!
It's going to be a busy weekend!
I've been following you on instagram far more regularly! But I've been meaning to bop back over here and see how you've been. I love your style in pregnancy as well (even if it's "just to be comfortable" it's still very put together).
ReplyDeletePregnancy mask?? I don't think I've ever heard of that, I had PUPPS when I was pregnant and it was awful!!
