We headed to Destin to do some light shopping and lunch at our favorite place. The hubs took me to Target for some early birthday gifts. I got a taste of what Mom Birthdays are going to be like when I loaded up on Target tees and new flats. As you can tell, I'm very bold in my color choices. #momlife
On the way back in we decided to stop off and give Mykenzi her first experience as a true Florida girl. The beach! It was a little breezy and you'd think we brought a puppy to the beach not a kid. She was licking and waving her tongue all over the place trying to catch the wind. The sand and waves were not as interesting as the wind blowing in her face. Easily entertained, that child.
On Sunday we enjoyed a nice family nap resulting in an 11am wake up call. I wish that could be a daily occurrence. Once we got our bearings going, me and the husband got outside and went all "Jason" on our trees. I had no idea I could like using a chainsaw that much. My husband should be very scared.
While pruning our trees, I must have lost my Mom Card because I came back in to feed the babe and she wiggled right out of my arms and her face met the end table next to the recliner we were sitting in. Thank god it wasn't a far fall and I caught most of her, but her poor little forehead took a hit. I'm not sure who cried harder. No black eye, and no bump to tell the story ... just a very bruised Mom ego and a tiny little red dotted reminder.
As if I wasn't feeling crappy enough, in the midst of her unfolding all the laundry I was trying to fold ... I turn back around to her test tasting a dryer sheet. A week in to 7 Months Old and sh*t hits the fan, y'all!
Hopefully I can get my act together this week. My heart isn't ready for anymore mom fails.

She looks just like your husband! Do you hear that all the time? That's ALL I hear... Caleb is his dad's twin lol.
ReplyDeleteAw, the beach! How lucky you are! We just have piles of snow here... no big deal - haha! We keep saying we should move to Florida because my grandma lives there and my hubby is a California boy who is NOT used to snow. We'll probably never move though because the rest of our family is here plus our jobs. Oh well!
Girl I see you are using your big girl camera! Go mama go!! I cannot wait to get Presley to the beach (albeit ours a wee bit cold still) Love that you chainsawed the heck out of those trees, that sounds like good and cheap therapy!
ReplyDeleteTarget tees and flats? Yep, that's part of the Momiform alright :) And don't be too hard on yourself, Mom fails happen all the time :)
