Thankfully, Nuk came along just in the Nuk of time. (See, what I did there? #nailedit) They asked me to give their Rest Easy Spoons and Woodlands Learner Cup a try. So, here we are.
First, as advertised they have a little notch on the bottom of the spoon so while you are heating your baby's food you can set it on the table or counter and the spoon portion does not touch the surface keeping it germ free and your counter baby puree free. This was a big win for me because even 3 months into the Solid Food game I have yet to master heating times so the spoon always ended up in my mouth while I waited for the food to get to the right temperature. Unfortunately, these spoons don't have a heat indicator where the tip of the spoon changes color when the food is too hot, but I taste Mykenzi's food before I feed her anyway so it's a very minor inconvenience for me.
Also, it's light enough for Mykenzi to grab and use herself unlike the spoons with the metal handles that are a little heavy. She loves to try to feed herself and these spoons make it so much easier for her to do that. The lightness of the spoons also allow me to set the spoon in the bowl and not have to worry about it flipping backwards and flinging pureed sweet potatoes all over my dining room.
The spatula end of the spoon is what really fueled my obsession. Unlike regular spoons, the spoon end is square shaped making it super easy to clean the excess food around your baby's mouth. It's really made clean up a breeze. Never thought I'd contribute a cleaner dining experience to a spoon but it's true! Even my husband was raving about these spoons and how much easier they made feeding time. Let's be real ladies, what man notices a change in anything? Am I right? Out of the three of us, I think he enjoyed the spoons the most. (Don't tell him I told you that.) He even noticed after a carrot dinner, the spoon washed clean instead of leaving stains which is something we can't say for any other baby spoon we own.
Thanks to Nuk for showing me something I wasn't aware I couldn't live without! Be sure to check out Steph, Laura, and Cait and link up with your own "Can't Live Without It" post!
Happy Weekending!
I was provided these products by Nuk free of charge in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are 100% my own.
Hmm I will have to check those out! I am usually a fan of the metal spoons (but I think that is due in part to pure childhood nostalgia!) We are sippy cup training as well but P mostly uses it as a teether! Speaking of which she keep freaking biting me!! This bfeeding business may be over soon!
ReplyDeleteMy sister in law uses that sippy cup for my niece and swears by it! Hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day, Jen!
ReplyDeleteI don't know about you, but I love having sweet potatoes on my dining room wall ;) May have to invest in the bottle though ,we're currently using playtex bottles right now, but these nuk ones look like a much better alternative.
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day!

Nuk's spoons were Navy's favorite! The square end really does make cleaning up around baby's mouth easier.
ReplyDeleteWe are just starting foods so I'll have to request these spoons in my next Nuby package!! Any recipe suggestions?!
