I feel like we're really picking up speed, when I think about how close we are to 30 weeks I get a little nervous because I know from there this pregnancy is going to fly! I'm still trying to savor every moment of Mykenzi as an only child, yet I'm so excited to add a little man to our bunch.
This week we celebrated my birthday which fell on Easter this year. Normally we head to Alabama to celebrate Easter with family, but we unexpectedly lost the Pastor of the little church we usually attend. She was kind of one of the family, so that, plus crummy weather, we opted to stay home this Easter. Although, our original Easter plan kind of fell apart, we still managed to get dressed, steal Grammy, and eat Easter Brunch at a local hot spot. I think we all ate our weight in breakfast foods and followed that up with lots of cake for my birthday. Needless to say, Rowan did not starve, he was a very happy baby.
I received an amazing new robe for my birthday from my Mother-in-law because you know, that's what I spend most of my days in. She took the tip from the hubby who I think was trying to tell me my skull robe from circa 2008 needed to go. Noted. I also got bath bombs which were the answer to this achy pregnant body's prayers. So, good food, bath bombs, and a new mom robe ... I'd say I hit the birthday jackpot.
How
far along? 24 weeks, 5 days
Total
weight gain? So, I'd really like to blame this on all the cake I've had in the last few days, but I weighed myself before I had any cake. I'm officially 18lbs up. I bet it was my shoes ... yep, probably that.
Maternity
clothes? It's a mix. But anything loose and stretchy is the best!
Stretch
marks? Not yet, and praying it stays that way.
Sleep? What's that? I've been sleeping better, but still very interrupted and hard to get comfortable.
PEAK
of the week? My birthday! My thirties are proving to be the best years so far! Excited to see what 32 has in store for me.
PIT
of the week? Finding out about the passing of our Pastor. So unexpected and so sad.
Big
Sister? She's doing great! We argue over naps and eating, but from what I have gathered that's toddler life for ya. My friend Stephanie from Olive and Tate shared some great smoothie recipes this past week so we've been implementing those into our diet and so far they work like a charm! Rowan approves too! So good.
Daddy? He took a three day weekend this weekend for my birthday! Love spending extra time with him and Mykenzi. Sadly, he's throwing an event for work next weekend so we lose him a day. Thank goodness for comp time though, that just means we get to steal him back a day during the week!
Miss
anything? Coincidentally, the brunch spot we chose had a build your own Bloody Mary bar for Easter. As if I didn't already want one bad enough ... although, I know exactly where I'm going after Rowan is born.
Movement? Tons! I actually felt hiccups this week, which I felt like lasted forever! He is still breech because I'm feeling him kick places that aren't too pleasant!
Food
cravings? Apple Crumble Waffles y'all. I don't know what it is with Waffle House and my pregnancies but these babies just have to have them!
Anything
making you feel sick or queasy? Still bras! Thank goodness I don't go too many places during the week so I don't always have to wear one. I'm trying to hold off buying anything new until after Rowan gets here because I don't know if these things plan on getting any bigger or not!
Gender? All Boy!
Symptoms? Dry hair and skin. It's a daily battle but I'm managing. That, and I swear my bladder gets smaller by the day.
Belly
button in or out? Flat.
Happy
or moody? It took a while for the second trimester to catch up but things are happy and I'm starting to very much enjoy this pregnancy!
Looking
forward to? Celebrating my hubby's birthday! We are exactly 15 days apart, so its a fun few weeks in our house, followed by our Anniversary in May.
When I read these posts it makes me want another baby so bad! You look so great Mama!
