This week proved to be the week from hell. If it could go wrong it absolutely did. One of those you better laugh so you don't cry weeks. Eh, we're bound to have them every once in a while, right?
I had two blog deadlines to meet for this upcoming week. One is for a post centered around a toddler meal that I need to cook. I had everything planned out, groceries bought, and our oven decides to bite the dust. Guess what I need to cook this meal? That's right. It bakes for 30 minutes. Stellar. It's something in our control panel of the oven, which is still not fixed. Guess, I'll be figuring out what I can cook in the microwave for this post. Hah!
The second deadline was for a styled post that will go live tomorrow. I had my photo shoot all set up for this weekend only to come down with one nasty stomach virus Thursday night. I spent the better part of 8 hours hugging the porcelain God, begging for mercy. With no luck on answered prayers, Rowan started getting antsy and contractions started coming in pretty regularly with tons of pain, so off to Labor & Delivery we went. Tons of fluid and magical anti-nausea meds later, I was able to keep ice chips down. Not amazing, but a far cry from how I showed up at the hospital. My Doctor ordered another ultrasound just so we could check on Rowan and make sure he wasn't trying to make a break for it. We were relieved to receive a clean bill of health, see a closed cervix, and plenty of amniotic fluid for him to splash around in. They also took measurements of his head, legs, and abdomen which showed him measuring at the gestational age of 29 weeks, 6 days and weighing just shy of 3lbs. I almost fell out of my bed. I was only 27 weeks, 2 days at the time of the ultrasound so to be baking a baby that is almost the size of what a 30 week baby is supposed to be is pretty crazy. It's no wonder I'm already feeling uncomfortable. The Doc was super happy with the ultrasound report even with the measurements. We do have to prepare to go into labor earlier than 39 weeks though. If he continues to measure ahead, I just may not make it to July 7th. Hello, June baby?! Hopefully, he'll slow down and everything will even out and we can have him according to plan. Fingers crossed!
How
far along? 27 weeks, 4 days
Total
weight gain? 21lbs. I'm not sure if I lost anything due to being sick.
Maternity
clothes? Not this week. If it's not a Moo-Moo, I didn't wear it this week.
Stretch
marks? Not yet, but now with him measuring bigger, I'm wondering if they are on the horizion.
Sleep? Yep, none of that. Although, I did get an amazing night of sleep Friday night after the hospital, but I was also heavily drugged and incredibly exhausted.
PEAK
of the week? We got to soak up one of Daddy's mid-week days off before death hit me.
PIT
of the week? It was just one of those weeks. It was all pretty much a pit.
Big
Sister? She's been a champ and has been so sweet and cuddly since I've been sick. She's been a good little nurse.
Daddy? He's been a life saver this week and has literally taken care of everything since I've been on my death bed. Super Dad status this week for sure!
Miss
anything? This week I miss food. I'm very much an I like to eat real food even if I'm sick. I don't do soups or that dang BRAT diet or whatever, give me food. Well, all I've been able to eat is Saltines. I'm dreaming of all the meals I want to inhale as soon as I feel better.
Movement? So. Much. Movement. He literally gave the nurses a run for their money when they were trying to monitor him. We all got a good laugh out of it. All I can think is I'm in serious trouble when he gets here. He's going to be my wild child for sure.
Food
cravings? I want all the food, but all the food does not want me right now.
Anything
making you feel sick or queasy? Everything at the moment.
Gender? BLUE!
Symptoms? Besides death warmed over? Nothing too exciting to report here. Just some aches and pains from being stuffed full of a baby.
Belly
button in or out? Flat and still a little pokey.
Happy
or moody? Neither. I've been down right pitiful this week.
Wow what a week! I'm sorry to hear about your stove but even more sorry to hear about your stomach bug! Thank goodness Rowan is staying put! I hope this week is much much better for you! xo
ReplyDeleteMy first baby came 5 days early and my second 12 days early!! Sounds like you may be headed for an earlier delivery too!
