When it comes to toddler meals I try to cook meals that we can all enjoy together. I want Mykenzi to be able to eat the things we eat and not know anything different. Sometimes that's easier said than done and chicken nuggets or grilled cheese over rule Mom's cooking. You win some, you lose some. One meal I can always count on to be a crowd pleaser for all of us is Chicken Roll Ups. Mykenzi gets her pasta loving ways honest because I could literally eat pasta everyday for the rest of my life. I use this recipe from Pinch of Yum. This is a really health conscience version and since I try to keep my toddler a little beefy, I sub in real eggs, whole milk ricotta, and regular bread crumbs. Just add a side of whole wheat noodles and voila! Winner winner, chicken dinner. Literally.
While Mykenzi is super happy with products that make it easier for her to be an independent eater, this Momma loves the fact of how easy Boon makes it for you to clean their products. Finally, two products that make dishes a little less annoying. The first is their new FORB MINI used for hand washing. It's petals are made of super durable silicone that not only cleans like nobody's business but it doesn't scratch up your plates like other sponges or brushes with nylon bristles. It brings a whole new meaning to flower power!
And just when I didn't think I could be obsessed with a kitchen gadget, Boon proved me wrong with the Boon SPAN. Y'all. You need this. It is the bomb dot com, and I can't even believe I just typed that, but it is. The SPAN is a stretchy silicone net that keeps all your plastic dishes in their place through the entire wash cycle of the dishwasher. Why is this so amazing? Because that means when you open your dishwasher all your little plastic bowls are still sitting pretty and not flipped over filled with gunky dirty food water. I made sure to really test it out for you guys too, because I'm pretty much an over achiever when it comes to loading the dishwasher. I like to see just how many pieces I can get in there before I result to hand washing, and the SPAN totally kept up with my Tetris Dishwash loading ways. Like I said, I didn't know I could fall in love with a kitchen gadget, but it has happened and I think you'll fall in love too.

ReplyDeleteOh I totally need that Span! I HATE when I open the dishwasher and bowls and cups have flipped and are filled with water. Great review Mama!
