We are officially in the 30's! Crazy. I feel like I hit the second trimester and this pregnancy hit fast forward. Maybe it's all the nesting and getting ready that makes it seem so fast and so real?
This week we celebrated our Wedding Anniversary and my second Mother's Day. It was a great weekend! We kicked off our Anniversary with a friend's Gender Reveal party (It's a girl! Yay!), we got to enjoy to a kid-free dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, and ended the night at a friend's surprise birthday party. I don't think we've been that social since before Mykenzi was born. For Mother's Day all I wanted was to nest. My dear, sweet husband kept trying to take me to a fancy brunch and have me kick up my feet, but the need for nesting was real! He was a good sport and let me boss him around, lift heavy things, and even kept our little ragamuffin entertained so I could get everything done I wanted to. Our Master Bedroom is now spotless with all of our dresser drawers re-organized, our closet is re-organized, and the Master Bath is so fresh and so clean. Our room is officially ready to bunk with a newborn and then I moved on to cleaning out the guest room which will now be Rowan's Room. We broke down all the furniture and it is now Rowan ready. I've been slacking on his nursery because Mykenzi is still in the crib and for the first few months he'll be in our room anyway. His room is clear though, so now I actually have the space to put all of his stuff and to stock his drawers. I also got his car seat and a few other big items for him that aren't sister hand-me-down pink. I don't mind passing some of Mykenzi's stuff down to him, but it was really important for me to get him is own stuff in boy colors. I'm sure one day he'll appreciate that too.
Also, this week I had my repeat glucose test, and here's to hoping I passed. I tried to really watch my sugar and carbs lately so I could really understand what I was eating. The result? Let's just say I realized Rowan is completely made up of sugar and carbs and we're in trouble if I don't pass this thing. Stay tuned.
How far along? 30 weeks, 6 days
Total weight gain? +25lbs. I go back to the Doc next week. I'm sure that number will change.
Maternity clothes? I am still making some stuff work, but maternity shirts have been winning lately.
Stretch
marks? Nothing new, I've doubled my oil application in hopes to keep any at bay.
Sleep? Sleep has gotten better, it is still not that great, but I'll take what I can get.
PEAK of the week? Spending the weekend celebrating with my husband and friends we haven't seen in a while. It was a much needed pick me up and a reality check that we need to get out more.
PIT of the week? The Monday after Mother's Day Nesting. Good gravy, it was very reminiscent of a party binge hangover. Ugh.
Big Sister? She's had a really good week. I almost don't want to speak it into existence because I don't want to jinx anything, but we had minimal meltdowns this week. I hope that continues!
Daddy? is such a gem. I'm really a lucky girl. I was surprised with an infinity heart necklace with 5 diamonds in it for our 5th wedding anniversary. He really is such a great husband and dad, I probably don't tell him that enough!
Miss anything? I miss having abs. Getting out of the bed or off the couch lately has been quite the task. Let's not even discuss trying to get socks and shoes on.
Movement? He's a mover and a shaker, but I can tell spaces are getting tight because they are less all over and in more consistent places.
Food cravings? Honeycombs cereal is still up there, and have you tried the new Waffle Cone Frapp from Starbucks?! Oh my god. If I fail this glucose test, I just might cry at the thought of giving those up. They are life changing.
Anything making you feel sick or queasy? Doing good on that this week. Nothing comes to mind.
Gender? Boy. Boy. Boy.
Symptoms? Still have the pregnancy mask, but it doesn't seem to be growing, so that's good. I've been having a lot of round ligament pain this week, so he must be growing again.
Belly button in or out? It's still a little
pokey.
Happy or moody? This was an extremely happy week. Mood swings seem to be at a minimum.
Looking forward to? We have a Sprinkle coming up. I'm excited to celebrate Rowan with our friends.
