34 Weeks

All those weeks of being a chipper preggo came to a screeching halt this week ... but seriously, could you be chipper when you feel like a 2 ton whale with the bladder the size of a peanut?  At my baby shower the girls asked my husband a series of questions and we all had to guess his answer.  On the question, "What's the one word that best describes Mom's mood while pregnant?"  My initial thought was that I have been doing amazing this pregnancy ... personally, I thought my mood throughout this pregnancy had been pretty stellar.  To my surprise, his answer was "Happy! A tiny bit irritable, but not full on crazy!"  Not full on crazy?!  I didn't even think irritable was in play and he is thanking his lucky stars I haven't been full on crazy?!  Well, I'm sad to report "full on crazy" made its debut this week ... poor hubby.  Feeling huge, tiny bladder syndrome, extreme heat, minor swelling, and 2 hours of sleep every night was not a good look for  me ... and even despite my "full on crazy" ways my husband handled it like a champ.  I'm so thankful he can handle me because some days I can't even handle myself. #husbandoftheyear

Speaking of sleep or lack there of in my case ... it really bugs me when people say get your sleep now before the baby gets here!   Uh, duh! Don't you think I want to?  Shoving pillows in places to support what feels like a 20lb ninja kicking watermelon hanging from your abdomen doesn't exactly scream, "Sweet Dreams!"  I was lucky to sleep for a thirty minute stretch between wake ups.  At least with a newborn your body is semi back to normal and you can get comfortable.  Thankfully, I had a Doctor's appointment this week and begged Doc for any suggestions in catching a few extra Zzz's ... not only for my sake, but those around me! #fulloncrazy

While this Momma is growing increasingly uncomfortable in her skin ... Baby Girl is growing like a weed, just as she should.  Her heartbeat sounds strong and healthy and I'm right on track with where I should be in this pregnancy according to Doc.  Being petite, knowing that I'm doing well with weight gain and growth for baby girl makes being uncomfortable worth it.  I was nervous when I first found out I was pregnant that my petite frame was going to make for a difficult pregnancy, but I've been lucky enough to have a fairly smooth pregnancy.  Hopefully, labor will be just a smooth!  We head back to see Little Bit in two weeks and then follow up weekly after that!  We are officially in the appointments that will check for labor signs! Crazy!  Doc is being nice enough to order one last ultrasound for us around 37 weeks.  I can't wait to see how much Mykenzi has grown!  It will be a sweet treat to see her one last time before we get to meet her face to face!

In other happenings this week, I had Round 2 of Maternity pictures done with the ever so talented Tay Gray Photography.  I've been friends with Taylor for a long time and she came to me with an idea for a maternity shoot and I decided to give it a go!  I'm super excited with how the shots came out!  Stay tuned next week for a Sneak Peek!

How far along?  34 weeks, 6 days

Total weight gain? 28lbs ... creepin in on 30lbs!

Maternity clothes?  At this point I'm starting to hate clothes.  Anything that fits and doesn't make me look too homeless is my go-to wardrobe at this point.

Stretch marks?  Not that I have found yet.

Sleep?  Thanks to suggestions from the Doctor, I'm finally getting more than two hours of sleep at night which has been glorious!  It's definitely helped my mood too.

PEAK of the week?  Hearing good news at our appt and finally catching up on some sleep.

PIT of the week?  Being grumpy.  I hate being grumpy.  I'm sure my husband hates me being grumpy too.

Miss anything?  Missing my clothes, my body, and just being comfortable in my skin.

Movement?  Yes! And I can tell she is growing because her movements are moving up into new places ... little girl had a field day with my lungs the other day.

Food cravings?  Still random.  Boiled Peanuts and Vegetable Tempura have been calling my name this week!  And let's not forget the infamous Blueberry Waffle ... those are still a staple in my diet.

Anything making you feel sick or queasy?  Just this heat ... I can't take it for too long without feeling nauseous and out of breath.

Gender? Girl!

Symptoms?  Random cravings and some minor swelling.

Belly button in or out? Still flat. flat. flat.

Happy or moody?  Started this week super grumpy and I've gradually gotten happier the more sleep I get.

Milestones?  6 weeks to go! Yikes! I can't believe how close my due date is getting!

Looking forward to?  Sharing Maternity Sneaks with you and getting the nursery ready!

Upcoming Appts/Events?  Appt July 24th, Last Childbirth Class July 16th

  1. Seriously you are not alone! These last few weeks are proving to be difficult. The heat where I live is becoming unbearable I had to sleep with a wet washcloth over my face last night! Can't wait to see your nursery, you will feel so much better once you can really dive in and start organizing things!!
