First Easter Basket

Sooo, I'm an idiot and if you were following along last night, you got to see all 89 pins to my Polyvore that I totally forgot was linked to my Blogger.  In my defense, I was tired, it was Daylight Savings, and I was just too dumb to notice until it was too late.

Anyway, I finally slapped myself together and got this post together in one piece. Hallelujah.

Easter means two things ... Jesus is alive and Spring is finally here! I'm so excited to show Mykenzi what Easter is all about.  Every year we travel to Alabama and celebrate Easter at our favorite Little Church.  Since this is Mykenzi's first Easter and she'll only be 7 months old, I didn't get too crazy with her Easter Basket but still wanted to celebrate the tradition of opening a basket on Easter Morning.  Putting together an Easter basket for a 7 month old was challenging, but I'm always up for a good challenge!  I think I pulled together the perfect basket for her first Easter.

Her "basket" is going to be a beach pail with a shovel.  The beach is a way of life where we are from and there are many trips in our future. With the start of Spring, I couldn't think of a better basket for Mykenzi's first Easter.  We'll focus on a more traditional basket next year.

We are super fans of Dr. Brown's Baby Bottles in this house, so I was super excited to find this deal from Babies R Us for Dr. Brown's Holiday Easter Bottle.  The perfect addition to her basket .

We also decided to give Mykenzi The Story of Easter book.  It's never too early to learn about what this holiday truly represents and while she may not "get it" this year, it's something we can read to her every year and teach her that Jesus is the reason for the season.

I think I'm most excited about this Elephant Teether.  This amazing little Etsy shop found me via Instagram on one of Mykenzi's teething photos.  The name of the shop piqued my interest with its insane cuteness and witty play on words.  The shop is called Happy Teeth Droolry ... I mean, seriously?! How adorable? Right?! You guessed it, Happy Teeth Droolry makes affordable teething friendly jewelry that is stylish enough for Mommy to wear and safe enough for baby to chew.  They also have these amazing elephant teether clips which is what I got for Mykenzi's basket.  I cannot wait for Mykenzi to open this ... She gnaws on her pacifier so I know this teether will be a hit.  The great thing about these products is they are silicone, so they are soft and durable for baby to chew. The best part? They are BPA free and super safe for baby which earns an A+ in my book. Jay, the shop owner, is so sweet and great in answering any questions you have on putting your order together.  There are so many combinations of colors and clips to choose from, I definitely needed her help in choosing the perfect combination for Mykenzi.  Jay is so awesome she's offering my readers 10% off their order until the end of April with the code BBB10.  Be sure to stop by her shop and say hello! Check out her teether clips, Mommy and Me sets, or create your own custom order.

That's it for Mykenzi's basket this year.  I'm already thinking of ideas for next year!  What did you put in your baby's basket for their first Easter?
