Wrong. Let's rewind.
We decided last year that it was a brilliant idea to buy and move into a house at 34 weeks pregnant. It's sounded good in theory, reality sucked major well, I let you be the creative one on how much it sucked. Anyway, the inspection checked all the boxes except after all was said, done, and the papers were signed, we found out our plumbing was jacked up. Our full spare bath was not plumbed correctly underneath the shiney, new faucet they installed. Cool right? Imagine all the big ole WTF's this pregnant hot mess was shouting. Since my husband wouldn't let me return the house (apparently houses don't have return policies, which was stupid real estate practice in my pregnant mind) we decided to get estimates to see what we could do to fix it. We'll just say the estimates almost sent me into labor, so we moved in and lived life without a functioning bathtub and relied solely on our stand up shower in the Master.
Not terrible right? Well, for me a bath is a cure all. I don't feel good? Bath. I'm cold? Bath. Need to unwind? Bath. Hugely pregnant? Bath. Oh wait. That last one wasn't an option. As if my bath-less life wasn't rough enough, my darling husband adds salt to the wound by gifting me Lush Bath Bombs for Christmas. Yep, beautifully scented bath bombs for my non-existent bath. He's still alive don't worry. He walks with a limp now, but it's all good.
Kidding.
If you remember a few posts back I mentioned a shower remodel. We FINALLY decided to bite the bullet and fix the tub while we were remodeling our master shower. The plumbing shares a wall, so two birds, one stone. We set everything for our Anniversary week since my husband was going to off work. We get up at the crack of dawn on a Saturday morning and wait for our contractor. He never shows. Not only does he not show, he never returned our calls. Again, imagine all the WTF's flying through my house.
So, now it's June and we finally found another contractor and he's already fixed our tub and we are starting to get the shower remodel together. Last night, Mykenzi and I had our first bath in our new/old tub and I don't think I've ever been so excited about personal hygiene.
Gone are the days of filling up the tub with a gallon sized pitcher for Mykenzi's bath. I will certainly not miss those days at all. Not to mention, I finally get my favorite "Me" time back. A bubble bath, with a glass of wine! The perfect Momma re-charge!
Made it this far? Bless your heart. I know this was a ramble fest of a post. So to make it up to you, I've included some super adorable snapshots of my little bath lover. I'd share mine, but I didn't think y'all would really wanna see that, plus I was too busy sucking down my wine.
Bath Toys // Shampoo // Conditioner
So now that you guys know my hygiene isn't suffering, I hope you all have an amazing weekend. I'll be back on Monday with Mykenzi's 10 Month Update. (Insert Ugly Cry Face) I know, 10 Months, I don't know how it got here so fast either. But it did.
Happy Weekend!
I don't know how you did it. I'm a roller coaster of emotions towards the end of pregnancy and it would have been world war III over here with no tub.
ReplyDeleteOn the plus side: that cute little babe soaking in the tub is a total doll!!

Oh my word that sounds like a stressful end to your pregnancy! Bless you for making it through that, and yay for your new bath!
ReplyDeleteHaha oh man...baths were pretty crucial during my pregnancy too, so I hear ya - Glad you have a functioning tub now! Also, adorable bath hair!
ReplyDeletegahh we are dealing with the same thing, just pre-pregnancy. We moved into a home of an older woman who had a walk in shower and a tiny 1/2 master bath. We want to add a shower to our bathroom and put a tub into the main full bathroom. We want to do this for the sole purpose of bathing babes in the future. But after reading your post, now I think I kinda want one for myself just as much!
