Yes, I'm still alive. Yes, the contractor is still alive too ... For now. Haha, no but really, he's treading thin ice.
Things have been the hot mess express over here. In the midst of construction, my sweet little bit decided that was a great time to spike a fever of 102.9. I tried to keep my mom cool but I was a stressed mess. I did manage to keep my composure enough to not run directly to the ER and wait for her Ped to get her into the weekend clinic. All is fine, just the Roseola virus. Four straight days of a fever no lower than 100.8, a clingy baby, and no sleep. Mom and Dad are running on fumes. The fever finally conceded on Tuesday which allowed a nice rash to take its place. Poor Mykenzi had a rough weekend. As if that wasn't the worst part. I noticed we have a new tooth. Where the hell it came from and when it actually showed up, I couldn't tell you. But, I'm assuming somewhere in that 4 day fog is where it came into play.
So, on top of a feverish, teething baby we were also dealing with a construction nightmare. Our rock wall made it down, accompanied by inches of rock wall dust caked on every surface of my house. I'm still cleaning dust and it's been a week since demo. Then everything sat for two days, one worker called in sick and the other had a job take higher priority because it was a safety hazard. If it's not one thing, it's another and our fireplace has made minimal progress. My August 1st deadline has been blown to shreds, so I gave him another week and I might have added a small threat if he doesn't make that deadline. Renos bring out the crazy in you, it's amazing the things you say and do in order to ensure the job gets done. Our bathroom is next on the list, and I pray it goes smoother than the fireplace or I will need some high blood pressure meds ... or a Valium.
Pray for me and send lots of wine any alcohol.
Oh, I am so sorry! I feel your pain though. We bought a house, sold our house, our closing for our new house is slowly creeping up and I haven't packed a thing. And the thought of packing & moving with a baby is giving me hives. I hope your contractor gets a move on it! We have some things needed to be done on our new house and we have a very short timeframe from the time we close and the time the closing on our new house is, and my husband is going to Vegas for my brothers bachelor party. So, lucky me I get to be the one to deal with the end of what needs to be the quickest job ever. I'm glad baby is doing better. There is nothing worst than a sick baby.
