We're still alive and kickin' over here. Surviving on coffee and cat naps. If you read my post on Friday you may remember we were spending the weekend convincing our darling daughter that sleeping in her own room was the best thing ever.
Good news!
She has slept through the night every single night since we made the switch. I know, I can hardly believe it was so easy. I, on the other hand, have gotten about as much sleep as I did in her newborn stage because my dear friend anxiety likes to ask the question, "is she breathing?" 52 times a night. Yes, I get up and check every single time. #momproblems
Just when we rejoiced in the fact that she took the transition so easy, my daughter became allergic to sleep. Technically, once she is asleep we are golden ... it's the going to sleep part she's allergic to. If I rock her she doesn't want to be confined, If I don't rock her she's upset, and if you just simply lay her in her crib grab some ear plugs because the blood curdling screams ensue. It is taking us close to 3 hours to finally get her to sleep, it's been exhausting. Thankfully, my trusty blogger friend Laura text me a suggestion to help with the process, so this little diddy is in transit to our mailbox as we speak! Hallelujah.
You'd never tell by these sleepy photos she's a monster to get down. Good thing she's a cute monster.
Oh I hope it helps!! We usually turn that on (press the moon button twice to have the colors alternate) and give her a book with lift the flaps. Usually she can entertain herself long enough to realize we are not coming back in! I also keep the light up animal in the crib so she can "play" with it. Good luck fingers crossed!!
